  J. C. Harrison Dear brother, I take my pen in hand to inform you that I and Family are all in common health at present and hoping that these few lines may find you enjoying the same blessings. I haven't had a letter from you since last spring. I would be glad to hear from you once more. I received a letter from Upson(?) in February. All was well then. The people is generally well in this section (except bad colds). Rebecca's folks is all well as far as I know at this time. Misses Smith's family is all well at present. The Old Man Hail (Hale?) in Warrenton died week before last. Warrenton had another burning last Thursday morning. It burnt out all the new wooden building that had been built on the old burn and some of the wooden building that was left before went this time. The new brick building didn't get burnt nor hurt as I understand. People is generally pretty well through planting corn. Wheat crops look tolerable considering the cold winter. So write to me when you get this and let me know how you all are a'coming on.

     Yours Truly Until Death
