Dear Father and Mother. I take my pen in hand to let you know that we are well at this time and hope these few lines may reach you and find you well. I received your letter last night and was glad to hear from you. You wrote that you would come after me if I wanted you to. I would be glad to see you but we think that we will all be ready to start in three weeks down there. You can come if you want to but before we get ready, if you come up here, write me (a) letter just as soon as you can and let me know when you will come. I would be be glad (to) stay with you a while but I could not stay long (with) you, but if you can come after me I will go with you and when we get down there I intend to come to see all. William Harrison started home from here this day, was three weeks ago. He went on with Ned Marsh (?). I ain't got time to write much (to) you this time but you can see what I have wrote. So I must come to a close.
Nothing more but
Remain Yours Truly Until Death Mary E. Harrison to J. C. Harrison
A little more yet. If you can't come up here by the fourth day of November, You and Mother come to Covington the twelfth of November and I will go home with you and stay three weeks or four with you but I can't stay longer than that on the count (of) I am in the fix I am. So I will quit for this time
