   Dear Father and  Mother,

I now take my pen in hand to let you know that I am well at present. My baby hant well. I hope when these few lines come to hand (they) will find you all well and enjoying the blessing of God. I hant much to write to you at present. I want to see you all mighty bad. I will come when I see a chance and if you come before I get there, I will go home with you. I want to hear from Brother William. I heard from Brother Benjamin about three weeks ago. He was sick. He said that they thought that he had the consumption. Our neighbors are all complaining. Write soon. Martha, come and see me and write to me. You all must write to me. Our crops look sorry at this time. Nothing more at present, only remain as ever

    Your Affectionate Daughter
