Dear Father and Mother, I take my pen to let you know that I don't feel very well this morning. I have a drowsy headache. William Henry is well, all but his knee. He fell off of the bed and hurt it. I hope when these few lines come to hand (they) may find you all in good health. The neighbors are generally up. Daniel Graham is dead. Bud Graham is sick. Mary and the children were well last Sunday. Mary got a letter from Brother Benjamin the first Monday in June. He said he was at (a) private house and said they thought he had the consumption. I want to know whose company Brother Will is in. I got your kind letter last Sunday and was glad to hear from you all. I said I would go when I got a chance. I can't go now. William will be at home in three weeks. I will go when (he) comes home and (then) goes back if you will come (then). Nothing more at present (that would be) good. I remain your lovely Daughter until death. Write to me when you get this. I got three letters from William last week. He has had the Measles. He said he was mending fast. Write! Isabelle Cooper Harden to Mr. John C. Harrison (back of letter used as IOU from John C. Harrison)
John C. Harrison on day after date I promise to pay the bearer the sum of one thousand dollars for value received
