Dear Brother,
I take my pen in hand to let you know that I am well and hearty at this time and well satisfied and hoping when these few lines may come safe to hand and find you well and hearty. I received your kind letter the 24 of this instant and was glad to hear from you once more. I have wrote to you and hant got no answer from you. I hant got no news to write to you at this time. You said that your paw came to see you when you wrote to me, and (he) wanted me to write to him. I have wrote to him and got no answer. I hant had a letter from him since the 15 of August I think. He must come to Mobile and lay in a supply of paper and ink for me. He wrote so much I am afraid that he won't have enough to do him. I heard from Isabelle the other day and she was not well. I was sorry to hear that Benjamin had to have his arm cut off. I would be glad to see you and him if I could. You must write as soon as you get this letter. So nothing more at this time only I remain
Yours Truly Until Death
