   Dear Brother and Sister

I take my pen in hand this morning to drop you a few lines which leaves me well and hearty at this time hoping that these few lines may reach you both and find you both well and living well.  I haven't much to write at this time only I would be glad to hear from you.  I wrote you a letter some time ago (but) have never got any answer yet.  I would be glad to see you and joke and talk with you and hear you tell about your trip you have taken since I have written to you.  I know you have seen hard times from what I have heard but I hope you will never see such times again. Times is quiet here at this time.  Some thinks we will have a fight here before long but I don't know.  Sis, you said that you wanted me to send you my likeness (photograph) but I have not had it taken yet but I will and send it to you by the next chance I get.  I must come to a close for this time so nothing more at present.

      Write Soon, So Good Bye

   Dear Sister,
I take my pen in hand to let you know that I am just tolerable well.  I had a very bad spell of the crap collic this morning.  I had it bad till I threw up.  I weren't at home but I sent one of the Green children after the old man and the horse.  When I was going home I fell off the horse and hurt myself, but not bad for I fell on my back.  I can't write for I hant got no paper. (probably why she's writing on back of this letter)  Tell Tempy that I have had her buckle worked up but David didn't make but two out of it.  It was so brittle.  Tell her (letter stops here-may be continued elsewhere)
