I received your letter of the 20 of this instant and
was very glad to hear from you and all the children and to hear that they was all getting well.
I got a letter also from Brother E.E. Hendrix and was glad to
hear from him and family. You wrote to me that you could get a calf and
cow for 115$ dollars and if you can spare the money I want you to buy
her and Brother Hendrix wrote that he got salt in Sparty and if you
haven't got enough of salt to do you I want you to get some. I wrote
you a letter a few days ago and wrote you that when you needed any
advice about anything for you to go to Brother Hendrix for it. Nothing
new to write to you at present. Times are disrupting in camps. The
soldiers are almost in a state of rebellion and some of them declare
that they will go home before long. These lines leave me well at this
time hoping that they reach you all safe (and) find you all well
Give my best respects to all enquiring
friends and keep a portion to yourself
John C. Harrison
